Care Initiator Course

The Care Initiator Course is a 4-6 hour Emergency Care Course designed to train the layperson in the Primary Care Essential Skills only. This course meets the recommendations by the HSE for Appointed Persons in the Workplace.

Care Initiator Plus

The Care Initiator Course Plus is our original 9-12 hour programme. It is a video-based, Instructor-supervised course with lots of confidence-building, hands-on practice. As well as teaching the Essential Skills of Patient Care (as in the CIC programme) this course adds the Secondary Skills of Patient Care whilst following the latest consensus medical guidelines. This course meets the recommendations by the HSE for Appointed Persons in the Workplace

First Aid At Work Course

The First Aid at Work course is an initial training programme in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency patient care. It is a medically based aid course designed to teach students to follow set procedures at lay person's level, to the same emergency aid skills and priorities used by ambulance technicians, paramedics and doctors. The skills of patient care essential to support the life of an ill or injured person are covered in 4 days (6 contact hours per day) in which practical application and hands on practice are emphasised. All skills learned by the students are in the same sequence that would be used when caring for the patient. The First Aid at Work course, as approved by the Health and Safety Executive, covers primary and secondary care, treatment and management of medical emergencies in the work place.

Paediatric First Aid

Paediatric MEDIC FIRST AID is a 9-12 hour, video-based emergency response care course with Instructor-supervised practices. This programme teaches appropriate CPR/first aid skills for the care of infants and children. Adult care skills are demonstrated where appropriate. Paediatric MFA emphasises prevention strategies and development of Essential and Secondary Skills of Patient Care in a flexible course that can be tailored to your training needs. Paediatric MFA makes excellent training for teachers, child care staff, school bus drivers, parents, grandparents and baby sitters. This course meets the recommendations by the HSE for Appointed Persons in the Workplace.
