Driving Lessons - What to expect
The first thing for you to know is the training car is fitted with dual controls, enabling me to ensure control of the vehicle can be maintained at all times!
I take a structured approach to driving tuition, beginning with basic control exercises to build your confidence, then progressivly adding new skills as you feel comfortable. Having fun makes learning easier. I will provide enthusiasm and encouragement for you to develop while allowing you to maintain control of your rate of progress.
If you already have driving experience I will assess your current skills and develop a training plan accordingly.
Mock Test's
I usually provide at least one mock test to enable learner drivers to experience test conditions as accurately as possible. Mock tests can be provided on request although I like to stress that the purpose of a mock test is to allow you to gauge your readiness for the actual practical driving test and highlight any areas that require development, rather than being a learning tool.
Intensive Driving Courses
I usually advise against this approach for beginners because in my experience they can be the cause of stress and anxiety as the learner driver 'measures themselves' against their own and others expectations. I would suggest that a beginner in a hurry would make very good progress having 3 x 2 hour lessons per week until they have completed the driving syllabus. At that point I would be willing to provide intensive training to prepare for the test.
Pass Plus Courses
Statistics show that new drivers are more likely to have an accident in the first two years of passing their test than at any other time in their driving career. To find out about how you can become even safer and more confident, as well as how to save money on insurance, see my Pass Plus page.
